MYSTERIOUS TRACKS IN THE PACIFIC
Rapa Nui , as the island is called in the language of the people of Easter Island, is one of the most beautiful islands in the world – not least because of its famous stone figures “Moais” . Due to its isolated location in the middle of the Pacific, the island, which belongs to Chile, has retained much of its original culture: it is located almost 3,800 km from the mainland and is therefore considered the place on earth that is furthest away from any other inhabited place.
Easter Island is characterized by a unique landscape and lonely beaches . The Rapa Nui National Park houses the archaeologically important sites in the form of a gigantic open-air museum: approx. 1,000 Moais statues, places of worship and old cave dwellings. A large part of Easter Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
