Good music, cool drinks and a relaxed atmosphere – that’s all it takes to experience a beautiful summer day. In Vienna there are many locations that offer exactly that – I’ll show you the 6 most beautiful beach bars in the city. Holiday feeling is guaranteed here!
You don’t necessarily have to travel to get that holiday feeling – there are also a few places in our beautiful capital that create a holiday mood. Cool outdoor locations such as Strandbarr Herrmann, Vienna City Beach Club or Tel Aviv Beach ensure real beach flair even in the middle of Vienna and entice with a chilled atmosphere in summer. In today’s article I will show you the most beautiful beach bars in town!
Herrmann beach bar
The Herrmann beach bar at Urania claims to be the second best bar in the world – a look at the map reveals that this claim is at least not entirely made out of thin air. Refreshing cocktails, classic splashes or harder drinks – here you get everything you need for a successful summer day! You can also sip your drinks on comfortable loungers while your toes are stuck in the sand – you can’t get more of that holiday feeling! If you want to try the varied menu, you should take advantage of the daily happy hour between 5 and 6 p.m. If you’re feeling hungry, there are also delicious snacks such as burgers and salads, and breakfast is also available in the Herrmann beach bar. By the way, the opening times of the beach bar are always from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Particularly cool:
Tel Aviv Beach
Tel Aviv Beach is clearly the star among the bars on the Danube Canal – so it is always quite a challenge to find a free space. If you are lucky enough to get a seat, you can just sit back and enjoy the chilled atmosphere. In addition to Israeli specialties, there are also homemade iced tea (especially refreshing on hot days!) And cocktail classics such as mojito or caipirinha on the menu. By the way, Tel Aviv Beach is also the perfect spot to watch romantic sunsets. The opening times between April and October are daily from 12 noon to midnight.
Sand in the city
If you value variety, you should definitely stop by Sand in the City in summer. On the area, where there is a huge ice rink during winter, there are a total of 13 beach bars between April and September! From the cozy pub to the classic cocktail bar, everything is there – even a shisha lounge can be found here. Of course there are also numerous culinary delicacies and all of that with a cool beach atmosphere! Sand in the City is ideal for everyone who longs for that holiday feeling and wants to feel the sand under their feet again. The area is open daily from 2 p.m. to midnight.
Vienna City Beach Club
The Vienna City Beach Club on the Neue Donau is the only beach club in Vienna where you can actually go swimming. The cool outdoor location offers the perfect mix of party and relaxation – while you can chill on the sun loungers during the day, there are cool events with various DJs in the evening. Sports fans also get their money’s worth here, as several volleyball courts invite you to let off steam. The official party season at the Vienna City Beach Club starts at the end of May with the De La Noche Opening Fiesta. From then on until the end of August there are regular events. You can find the entire party program on the official website .
Adria Vienna
In addition to Tel Aviv Beach, the Adria Wien is also one of the most popular restaurants on the Danube Canal. Here you can relax on deck chairs with a view of the water and treat yourself to refreshing cocktails. There is also a lot to discover from a culinary point of view. The spectrum ranges from Thai food to burgers and organic dishes – the menu has something to offer for every taste. The associated glass house can be rented for private parties – but rather cozy celebrations are held here, loud music is not allowed. The opening times are Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. The restaurant is open until midnight on Sundays.
Wake up
The Wake Up is located directly on the New Danube and is the ideal place to spend a relaxed evening after work. Here you can enjoy the view of the Danube and have a delicious meal or just enjoy a drink. Guests have the choice between different terrace levels and the beach bar, which is located directly on the water. If you are in the mood for a bit of action, you can also go straight for a round of wakeboarding – so it won’t get boring here! We particularly recommend the wake & lunch package for € 22, which includes an hour of wakeboarding and a lunch plate. The opening times of the wake up are daily from 10 a.m. to midnight.
In summer there is nothing better than chilling out in beach bars, don’t you think? By the way, in my travel magazine you will find many more tips for summer activities in Vienna!
